10 Commandments
Most people know that the 10 Commandments are from the Bible, even if you didn’t grow up in the church, consider yourself to be religious, or even believe in God. Let’s review what they are and see if you agree that no matter what your belief or disbelief system, that these rules/guidelines/commandments (sounds parental) make for a better lived life for yourself and definitely for the community around you.
Biblical: First Commandment – You shall have no other gods before me.
Practical meaning – Put God, the Creator, first in your mind and heart, and don’t make anything in your life more important. Keep your priorities straight. WHAT IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE IN GOD?
Reward: Keeps your daily focus outside of yourself which tends to lead to anxiety and depression and problems. Takes the pressure off of you by trusting God with your life.
Biblical: Second Commandment – Love your neighbor as yourself
Exodus 20:2-17; Deuteronomy 5:6-21
